Starting off with the first track “You” which sets the tone for the EP, Marizu looks at his personal journey of finding a new and more meaningful life in Christ. Moving on to the second tune and the first single to be released, “Reason,” Marizu shares the story of how he drowned as a child adding that “God is the reason why I’m alive today.” Then, listeners are introduced to more upbeat afro sounds, “Masterpiece” and “From The Clay” with Limoblaze. Towards the end of the EP experience, he winds down with a slight vibe-shift in “Your Love,” setting the ground for the explosion that is the closing track, “Big God,” a father/son duo that teased the EP release.

Marizu releases his forthcoming fifth EP, “Masterpiece,” a 6-track blend of afropop and soul.

Marizu unveils forthcoming EP; a spectacular display of his vibrant, infectious sound and colorful lyricism. From his first ever headline show in Lagos, Nigeria, to his UK debut at Solos London; this project rounds up a year of important milestones for the artist. Like all of Marizu’s Melodies, “Masterpiece” immediately makes us crave the richness of solitude and introspection

Starting off with the first track “You” which sets the tone for the EP, Marizu looks at his personal journey of finding a new and more meaningful life in Christ. Moving on to the second tune and the first single to be released, “Reason,” Marizu shares the story of how he drowned as a child adding that “God is the reason why I’m alive today.” Then, listeners are introduced to more upbeat afro sounds, “Masterpiece” and “From The Clay” with Limoblaze. Towards the end of the EP experience, he winds down with a slight vibe-shift in “Your Love,” setting the ground for the explosion that is the closing track, “Big God,” a father/son duo that teased the EP release.

“This EP is about becoming a new creation in Christ. It speaks on embracing yourself as God has made you - special, beautiful and without any flaws. I titled it Masterpiece because that is what we are in God’s eyes. I hope that everyone who comes across any of these tracks realises just how special they are.”

“Masterpiece” is an alleviating body of work to be listened to with bare ears and an open heart. It is set to release on 17th November, 2023 and will be available on all major music streaming platforms.

One thing that makes CalledOut Music stand out is his versatility. His range is evident in his first afrobeats project and fifth EP. In ‘RADICAL’, CalledOut Music takes a deep, personal, and intimate dive into the conflicted motions of Christianity. Every detail of this experience was carefully planned - taking listeners on a song-to-song journey from the day a person turns their life over to God, to the struggles and victories they face, to the final reward they receive.

The EP is composed of the first track “Loved By You,” an introspective song that explores the enduring nature of God’s love, and five other distinct tunes, “Day By Day,” “Coming To Pass,” “Greatest,” “Never Die Gang” and “Ready.” The intentionality of each track will make it difficult for listeners to pick favourites.

“The overall message that I would love people to take from this EP is that it’s okay to live radically for Christ, it’s okay to love God intensely; to lean into Him, and grow in Him.”

CalledOut Music and Hillsplay have truly crafted a magnetic EP that all listeners can find happiness and comfort in. Giving credit where credit is due, he shares that his father was instrumental in the creation of this project.

“Some of the songs on the project were birthed from conversations with pops!,” he says. “Till this very day, my dad shows me what it means to be Radical. I can’t explain how big a role he has played in my life, so much that He made a young Samuel dedicate his whole life to Jesus,” he continues.
