Obiora Obiwon returns with “Conqueror”, his first single after a brief hiatus. Conqueror is an eclectic blend of pop, soul, afro and hiphop over a salvation theme.

Sharing the inspiration behind the song. Obiora Obiwon reflects;
“The melody for ‘Conqueror’ came to me in a dream while in a hospital battling for my life after a ruptured appendix. It became the sign of my victory. I fully recovered, went home and wrote this song over a period time to capture the essence of my faith and the experience. Conqueror is a reminder that life is too big and mysterious for any of us to win all by ourselves and in our own strength. We all need a champ. The Champion of the Universe. Conqueror.”

The multiple award winning nigerian singer songwriter debuted as a solo artist in 2006 after previous years honing his skills with local hiphop groups including the award winning Thorobreds. From 2009 Obiora Obiwon’s music began to focus on christian/gospel themes, after the artiste cited a moment of epiphany the previous year. His discography includes 2 EPs and 4 LP albums as well as several singles.

His latest single ‘Conqueror’ marks the beginning of the journey towards the release of his 5th full length album entitled ‘Iridescence’.
