Lagos, Nigeria.
The official music video for “Conqueror” with lyrics added for a deeper sing along experience. Conqueror tells the story of salvation and the victorious life over an eclectic blend of pop, soul, afro and hiphop elements. Sharing the inspiration behind the song. Obiora Obiwon reflects;
“The melody for ‘Conqueror’ came to me in a dream while in a hospital battling for my life after a ruptured appendix. It became the sign of my victory. I fully recovered, went home and wrote this song over a period time to capture the essence of my faith and the experience. Conqueror is a reminder that life is too big and mysterious for any of us to win all by ourselves and in our own strength. We all need a champ and Jesus is the Champion of the Universe. The Ultimate Conqueror.”

Nigerian singer songwriter Obiora Obiwon debuted as a solo artist in 2006 after previous years honing his skills with local hiphop groups including the award winning Thorobreds. From 2009 Obiora Obiwon’s music began to focus on christian/gospel themes, after the artiste cited a moment of epiphany the previous year. His discography includes 2 EPs and 4 LP albums as well as several singles.

‘Conqueror’ marks the beginning of the journey towards the release of his 5th full length album entitled ‘Iridescence’.

Dear fellow Nigerians everywhere, join me to sing and declare the hope that has risen this season in the polity and in all our hearts for a new and different Nigeria in the run up to the 2023 general elections.

Here is the story of this song:

I had never believed, more like had been indifferent, about Nigeria’s path to greatness. Not until I heard a mentor of mine speak passionately about his dream and belief of a new and great Nigeria and I was taken. I went back home and the words to “Great Again” started rolling out. I sat on it and put it together, then called up my friend and producer Phat E @phateproduction. We were blessed to churn it out over a uniquely blended pop tune at the late legendary Sammie Okposo’s studio. I put it on YouTube, shared the mp3s on blogs. This was February 2011.

Fast forward 12 years later to February 2023 and every lyric, situation and hope reflected in that song has become more relevant and deeply needed more than ever before.

I humbly and joyfully present to you, the 2023 remastered version of “Great Again”. We say Nigeria arise out of your rot and ashes now, shine and become great again, for the glory of the Lord is risen over you:

Get up now and go//
Cast your vote//
Lend your voice//
Live your quote//
and we’ll be great again//
Great again//
Great again//
Nigeria will be and we’ll be great again//

GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

Lyrics:
Conqueror
Onye nmeri (victorious one)

You conquered death
Tore down gates of hell
Crush chains and thrones
You rescue me
You won for love
You conquer me with love
I can live by your spirit
alive in me

Spirit of Life
Inside of me
Spirit that raised you
From the dead quickening
my mortal body!
Yeah

Conqueror
You won for me your life
Conqueror
In me all death has died
Cause you live I live your victory
By your power of life in me
I’m more than
Conquerors, victorious
Inside your love

Onye nmeri
Conqueror
Onye nmeri
Conqueror

Your scars and stripes
Eternal sacrifice
You lad down your life
You rose so I can rise

Your Spirit of Life
Inside of me
Spirit that raised you
living in me
Now he that’s in me
Greater than he
that’s in the world
I got the victory!

Conqueror
You won for me your life
Conqueror
In me all death has died
Cause you live I live your victory
By your power of life in me
I’m more than
Conquerors, victorious
Inside your love

Onye nmeri
Conqueror
Hey!
Onye nmeri!

Thank you
I am grateful
I can trust you with my life
You are faithful…. hmm
I’m your living thank you song
Saying thank you God
I’m your living thank you song
Saying thank you God

Conqueror!
Conqueror!

Cause you live I live your victory
By your power of life in me
I’m more than
Conquerors, victorious
Inside your love!

This if the life of glory
New life, true life
This is the life of power
New life, true life

Packed up my bags
Gone completely
The world behind
The tears and lies

I've never cried over Nigeria but last week as those shots rang out, I did. Such an anti climax it was. I could barely sleep and there was this heaviness that was a mixture of many emotions...

...But thank God for God! As I got into my intimate time with Him in cloudy thoughts and mind, he reminded me of this song. A classic old Nigerian gospel tune but an anthem of victory and a powerful reminder of the eternal hope we have! As I sang it to Him I was completely refreshed, the weight melted before the fire of His word and presence. At times I wonder how difficult life would be without this access we have to come boldly and be refreshed, in the beauty of His presence, the joys of intimate worship!

With a few tweaks and extra lyrics added in my own flair, I bring to you this same experience in a special impromptu edition of the Surge Room series - Episode 5. I believe God it will bring you encouragement, inspiration and great hope.

In this fallen world there is victory, joy, strength, refreshing and pleasure flowing from beyond this realm and it is constantly available for anyone who believes. Tap in!

From my heart and room to yours in the Holy Spirit...

Starting this Monday I'm led to share sounds and communication from an altar of intimacy, which I'm led also to call The Secret Place.

The mode is "Unscripted Worship", sounds and songs previously unwritten and unrehearsed which burst forth at the spur of the moment - a mode of praise worship known as "Tehillah" in hebrew praise - a spontaneous song of the spirit; a new song to the Lord; a Spirit-breathed song that says whatever is in the heart.

"The Secret Place" is not only a place of protection but a place of intimacy, communication, wordless expressions, the very place of His presence and the place where battles are won as we receive amazing wisdom and strength.

Join me as we minister to Him and He dotes on us, speaks, rejoices, sings over us and quiets us with His Love [Zeph 3:17].

It will come to Instagram in one minute videos, while IGTV, YouTube, Facebook and other social platforms will have the long form videos. #TheSecretPlace.

Please subscribe and do share with me to the world.

For anyone waiting upon a Divine answer. An emotive song of hope and a prayer of deliverance.
I love you, God—
you make me strong.
God is bedrock under my feet,
the castle in which I live,
my rescuing knight.

A Billion Halleluyah - An elaborate praise worship anthem. "After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!" Rev. 19:1 NKJV

Lyrics:

Halleluyah You're worthy
Halleluyah You're holy
Halleluyah nobody
In heaven or earth could ever compare

Halleluyah You're lovely
Halleluyah You're worthy
Halleluyah nobody
In heaven or earth could ever compare
Halleluyah You're holy
Shining Star Your glory
Your radiance, Your splendour
Your honour
No words can fully declare

Refrain
Can you hear the angels singing halleluyah
Singing heaven's song of victory halleluyah

Chorus
Halleluyah, halleluyah
It could never be enough
Even if I sing a billion hallele, halle
Halleluyah to Jesus
Alpha and Omega
So lovely, so awesome
Sing Him a never ending hallele, halle
Halleluyah

Halleluyah hosanna
To my Champion, my Saviour
Halleluyah Redeemer, Deliverer
Great Lover of my soul
Halleluyah to Jesus
Raise Him high praises
Sweet pleasures are flowing
And rising
In His presence joy untold

Refrain
Can you hear the angels singing halleluyah
Singing heaven's song of victory halleluyah

Chorus
Halleluyah, halleluyah
It could never be enough
Even if I sing a billion hallele, halle
Halleluyah to Jesus
Alpha and Omega
So lovely, so awesome
Sing Him a never ending hallele, halle
Halleluyah

Bridge
Only You alone deserve my halleluyah
Only you alone my victory halleluyah
All my days on earth I'll sing you halleluyah
With the saints above an endless halleluyah

Chorus
Halleluyah, halleluyah
It could never be enough
Even if I sing a billion hallele, halle

Halleluyah, halleluyah
It could never be enough
Even if I sing a billion hallele, halle
Halleluyah to Jesus
Alpha and Omega
So lovely, so awesome
Sing Him a never ending hallele, halle...

Halleluyah, halleluyah
It could never be enough
Even if I sing a billion hallele, halle
Halleluyah to Jesus
Alpha and Omega
So lovely, so awesome
Sing Him a never ending hallele, halle
Halleluyah

Only You alone deserve my halleluyah
Only You alone deserve my halleluyah
With the saints above an endless halleluyah

Thank you for Your mercy
Thank you for Your mercy
Lord if not for Your mercy, where would I be
Thank you for Your mercy

Thank you Lord You came through
Because of Your love I pull through
Troubles like a flood
Burning flaming hot
But Your mercy said No

Shame where is your victory?
Death where is your victory?
Your mercy like a rock
My shield and hiding place
From the fiery darts of the enemy

Thank you for Your mercy
Thank you for Your mercy
Lord if not for Your mercy, where would I be
Thank you for Your mercy

If you long for mercy shout Amen!
If you need His mercy shout Odogwu Jehovah!
If you long for mercy shout Amen!
If you need His mercy shout Odogwu Jehovah!

Your mercy like a rock
My shield and hiding place
From the fiery darts of the enemy

If you need mercy call Him Baba!
If you need mercy call Him Odogwu Jehovah!
If you need mercy call Him Baba!
If you need mercy call Him Odogwu Jehovah!
